Arashi - Are You Happy? DVD
Jun. 14th, 2017 01:57 pm My Arashi "Are You Happy?" Concert DVD arrived last week! Since I'd been pretty much spamming some of their previous concerts, the first time I watched the "Are You Happy?" Concert I was a bit meh, but after the second play I warmed up to it and pretty much love it as much as their other concerts. I love the way all the songs were structured and how they were performed. I pretty much just love watching Arashi dance hehehe.
I honestly loved this concert dvd and I can't wait for an announcement for a new album :).
I loved the beginning songs. They started off with Up and Down, followed by Supersonic. I actually really like Supersonic as B-side track. I Seek and Oh Yeah came afterwards, and I'd actually just watched Ohno's drama with I Seek as a theme song, which I loved. I quite enjoyed watching Ohno in that drama hehehe. However, one of my favourite moments occurred during Love So Sweet, featuring Nino and MatsuJun. I just loved watching MatsuJun singing to Nino, and them holding hands as they made their way across the stage. There are quite a few member moments that I enjoyed throughout the duration of this concert :D.
After the introductions, it was time for Sho's solo. I actually really like Sunshine, and the way it was presented was quite cool. I like how the stage was set up to look like a house and how they changed the interior of the house to the exterior. To My Homies followed, and I have to say, I have never listened to this song as much as I did after this concert. To be honest, until I watched this concert, I didn't listen to as many songs from the Are You Happy album compared to the Japonism, Popcorn and LOVE albums. This concert changed my mind and I've been listening to it quite a lot. I do like how they showed pictures of each member from their younger days, and how they were playing a video in the background, as well as at the end so the members could run off to the car they used for Drive. Drive was a lot of fun. They had a car on one of the devices they use to transport the members around the dome with all of them sitting inside like they were going for a drive, with all the penlights being made to look as if it was a city at night. They even had some fireworks go off hehehe. Step and Go followed, and I laughed at the beginning when MatsuJun was singing with Ohno behind him inching his hands towards his butt before he catches them in time. After S&G ended, it was Don't You Get It, which I must say was very cool hehehe. Like I mentioned before, a lot of the songs on this album I had to see them performed to start to really love them. I'd seen their Music Station performance for Don't You Get It a while back, so I had already started to like the song more, and this performance cemented that. They all looked to cool with their sunglasses... and don't even get me started on the hip thrusting lol.
I sort of skimmed through the first talk section. Ohno left right at the start to prepare for his solo, and my favourite part of the talk happened at the end when Sho "realised" Ohno was missing and all the members are looking for him and asking him to come out. I loved how Nino said Ohno never talks so they didn't know he was missing lol. This transitioned into Ohno's solo Bad Boy, which was a bit different to his previous solos, although I still enjoyed it. Two to Tango followed, and looking back on it now the costumes remind me of their In the Room outfits in the Japonism Tour. I particularly liked the dance/moves that accompanied Sho's rap part in the song hehe. Fukkatsu Love is always fun to watch - I've probably seen it performed so many times so I'm familiar with the dance, but I never fail to squeal whenever MatsuJun says "I miss you" hehehe. Aozora no shita, kimi no tonari was next, although I don't have much to say about it. Probably because they didn't really dance to it like they have in previous concerts. From memory, they went around in the carts to a different stage. I still enjoyed the song though lol. Fight Song was next. I laughed at the beginning because they take off their jackets, and Aiba threw his jacket to slide under Nino while he jumps. It was fun hehehe. There was a section where MatsuJun is pretend fishing and Ohno throws them all back. Power of the Paradise was the last song of the first half before the real MC, and I really like the song so its always fun to watch hehehe.
I skimmed the MC again, and partway through MatsuJun left to prepare for his solo. The other members continued talking and eventually it was time for MJ's solo Baby Blue. When I first heard the solo I wasn't sure what to expect, since I'm used to a lot of his solos being dance numbers. It was a more mellow performance, but the song has grown on me and I actually really like it hehehe. I have to say, I really love Miles Away. MJ obviously joined the song a bit later, since he had to change, but I love all the harmonies and how their voices blend together. The visual effects were really good too. Hatenai Sora was next, which I started to really love after watching Freeter. I liked it before, but I love it even more now hehehe. This involved them getting on carts again to make their way back to the main stage for Wonder Love. I quite like the dance for this song hehehe. Next was Nino's solo, which I'm not even going to attempt to name because I always get it wrong, but it's one of my favourite solos off the album. Nino and Sho's solos are probably my two favourites tbh. I seriously love the song and the dance that accompanied it hehehe.
Disc 2 began with Aiba's solo Amore. It was quite fun, and I laughed when he was spinning on his head (while wearing a helmet of course). This transitioned into Seishun Boogie, but the best part was the super long introduction for the other members, before Aiba disappeared to quickly get changed. The dance was also fun. Afterwards, the monitor stated that a Happy Medley would then commence, which comprised of Happiness, Kitto Daijoubu, A • RA • SHI, Troublemaker, Love Rainbow, another song I can never name, Wild at Heart and Kansha Kangeki Ame Arashi. After the medley, it was time for Ai wo Sakebe, which is always fun to watch. A Day in Our Life and another song I can never name followed, before it was time for Energy Song. Eventually, it was time for their final greetings, before the last song Daylight. Daylight is honestly one of my favourites. I love the drama it was used as a theme song for, and I've probably played it on repeat so many times.
